14 Leroy Street is a truly marvelous property, dating back to before the Civil War and nearing 165 years old. Like any house, it requires ongoing maintenance. Some projects are substantial, such as a new roof, while others are more modest, but the need for upkeep is constant. Alumni have raised over $228,700 in the last decade to address deferred maintenance and keep the property in top shape.
This fundraising effort also supports an invaluable, though less tangible, benefit – alumni working side-by-side with active members during our annual Labor Day work weekend providing relationship building, mentoring, and mutual learning opportunities.
Our goal in 2025 was to raise $20,000 and we reached $21,600. Thanks to all who contributed time, money or positive thoughts. Appreciation as ever to Terry TZ Moran (81) for his tireless fundraising, cheerleading, cajoling, coaxing, and persistence. He summed it up nicely in his closing 2025 campaign email – “14 Leroy was a special place for all of us and we want it to be a special place for future members.”
